Moving Home

The Bears may soon be moving home. They have been on Blogger since they used to appear on The Queen’s Blog which started in June 2006 and moved to their own Blog here at Blogger in August 2007. We have really had a lot of fun with Blogger but now we are planning bigger and better things to do which don’t seem to be possible using the Blogger platform.
We are currently in the process of moving over to WordPress. We will let you all know what is happening as soon as we know ourselves.
In the meantime, please be patient we shall be back up and running in our new home as soon as we can!

Iraqis take their Football a tad too seriously
The Bears enjoy watching football, even though they are not great fans. They did have a laugh at Alex Furguson at the weekend after he said Manchester United were the better team following their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool. These kind of things sum up their attitude towards any sport, they don’t take it too seriously.
However some people do.
At the weekend in Iraq, there was a football match with a large crowd to watch rivals Sinjar and Buhayra playing against each other. Sinjar were winning 1-0 with only minutes to go when one of the Buhayra players made a breakaway towards the Sinjar goal.
Would he score and save the game for Buhayra?
Would the goalkeeper stop him with a last minute save?
One Sinjar supporter could stand the strain no more and so he shot the player in the head before he could score. The striker was killed on the spot during the match in the city of Hilla, according to local security officials. The suspected killer has been arrested as police carry out an investigation.
We are really glad Razzi doesn’t take Football too seriously, imagine the mayhem he could cause!
Musical Sundays #37

As you know Sundays are always boring; so we decided a while back to turn them into Musical Fun Days. Each Sunday we post music videos from a different artist or genre. This week, we thought it was time we had a look at the pioneers of Space Rock; Hawkwind. The Band celebrates 40 years this year, although only Dave Brock remains from the original line-up. Their songs are usually about Science Fiction and often writer Michael Moorcock is a collaborator.

We got an email a little while back from a Bear Lover in Russia who has a Renault Bear called Edward. We have replied to the email to say “hello” and find out more about Edward but so far we have not received a reply.

Majorie Dawes welcomes Davidd to Fat Club
Hi everyone it’s The Bears here. As you know, Thursday night is the night Davidd goes off to Fat Club to see if he has lost any weight. Each week Davidd goes to face the protential wrath of Majorie Dawes if he has not lost any weight. Tonight is the night we find out if he has managed to be good and avoid his usual feeding holes at McDonald’s, KFC and Subway.
So how has Davidd done this week…

Google Are Watching The Bears

As from today, Google is watching you
As you know The Bears spend alot of time on the Internet, visiting sites and searching for things of interest to fill their days with. Razzi even uses the Internet to find his infamous Bear Porn. Edward uses the Internet to research topics of interest during his accademic studies while Egginanoo likes to look at famous art works using online Art Gallaries. This is just a small example of some of The Bears surfing habits.
All this information could now be used against the Bears!
Commencing today, Google is going to start using what is being called; “Behavioural Adds”. That means that by using a Cookie hidden away on your computer the Search Engine company will watch the Websites you visit and then show you advertising based on your interests.
For example, if you like booking your holidays abroad on the Internet and so visit lots of Travel sites, then Google will show you advertising based on Travel.
Privacy campaigners are outraged by the move, with Privacy International calling for a parliamentary enquiry. Simon Davies, who is head of Privacy International, says; “The reality is that the service will track just about everything you do and everything you’re interested in, no matter how personal or sensitive.”
As you can imagine this has Razzi really worried!
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, said browsing habits could now be monitored as if someone had put a TV camera in one’s room. “We must not snoop on the internet”, he said.

Late Tuesday

Sorry but Tuesday is getting to be a very busy day and Me and Razzi don’t finish working until late. No one else around here even thinks of doing a blog post if we’re late. Come on guys, I am not the only one who can post on the blog.
While we are on the subject of complaints, I have had one from Linzi today because a certain Bearkeeper is trying to get her the sack so her mate Ashley can become a Beerkeeper instead. Let me just say that no one will be getting the sack around here just to make way for anyone else. All The Bears love Linzi so I can’t see any of them wanting to get rid of her.
On the other hand, if Ashley wants to become a Bearkeeper she can email us with her details and tell us how she can help look after The Bears and what does she have to offer us. Linzi is good at scooping, Amie at making Jammy Toast and Andrea is good at Security; so what can you do that is special?
