On occasion time moves a little too fast for all of us. When I first started the Bear Blog nearly three years ago now, many of the people who came to read and subscribe where in school. For some reason The Bears seemed to catch the attention of people of school age, although we can’t understand why adults weren’t interested!!

Lisa and her little Princess

Some of the longest subscribers who have been with us since the early days have seen many changes in their lives during these three years. Andrea was only 13 years old when she first started giving us grief – I spoke to her today as she was rushing home from school to go for an interview to start college next year! She is not the only one, Carina was also 13 when she first joined the Bear Blog – has started work in TJ Hughes over in Liverpool this week! Sadie is another, she was in Sixth Form College when she joined us and now she has moved to Leeds to study Mathematics at Leeds University. Our very own Amie had to step down from her Bearkeeper duties because she too went off to University.

So time indeed is moving on for everyone.

One person who time has really moved on for is one of our subscribers; Lisa. When she first joined the blog she was in college and thinking of what she was going to do when she left. Now, however, things have moved on very quickly indeed because at the weekend Lisa and her boyfriend Jamie had a little baby girl who weighed in at 8lb 3oz. They have decided to call their daughter Alycia-Alise and while this is a proud moment for mother and father it is also a proud moment for all The Bears. This is the very first time they get to be Godmothers and Godfathers. Razzi had already ordered a vintage car and machine-gun before we had time to explain to him just what being a Godfather meant. He does get things a little wrong at times.

Everybody here at the Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary would like congratulate Lisa and Jamie and wish them all the best. Many millions of gallons of water have flown under the bridge since we first got to know many of our Friends but I think none more so than with you both. We hope everything goes like a dream…

Just don’t bother waking us for the early morning feeds!!
