Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary

During the past 3 years, Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary has established itself as an internationally recognised centre for the rescue and rehabilitation of abused Renault Bears. It has been instrumental in helping with the enforcement of international treaties aimed at protecting Bears from illegal trade through eBay and Charity Shops. Bearkeeper Davidd founded Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary which he and his team of Bearkeepers have built from a small refuge to a large wildlife refuge that is home to more than 80 rescued Renault Bears and is rated as one of the most important Bear Protection centres in England.

The Centre has won many awards for Services to Animal Welfare and has been instrumental in stopping the cruel practices of selling Bears in polythene bags. Bearkeeper Davidd has taken part in frequent rescue missions and undercover investigations the Wirral in a bid to save his beloved Renault Bears from exploitation by Charity Shops selling Bears for profit.

Davidd has a passion for life and the conservation of Renault Bears that is an inspiration to all who know him. His enthusiasm is infectious and his efforts, while scoffed at by many, have saved many Bears from an uncertain future. Davidd’s efforts continue with the help of his volunteers and through the work of many of his projects set up globally.

Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary continues its work with no funding from outside agencies and no corporate sponsorship to cover the costs of Jammy Toast and eBay fees. Long may their work continue.
