Escape settles down to watch a DVD
Escape has asked me to thank everyone for all the messages he got yesterday wishing him well. He knows he is a lucky Bear to be safe and sound after his little adventure with the Post Office.
He is settling in nicely although last night he nearly ate us out of house and home and had poor Amie run off her feet making extra rounds of The Bears favourite food; Jammy Toast. Once he had his little stomach full he set about the task of getting to know everyone and finding out what all the other Bears get up to. He was a little confused when Efron told him how much they liked watching DVDs because he had never seen a film before.
So what better treat could we think of for his first night with us than to settle down with his new friends and watch; “The Day The Earth Stood Still”. It did get a little frightening at times but the Earth was saved in the end and after a very eventful day off he went up the wooden hill to bed.
All-in-all, I think he quite likes his new home!

The Bear who escaped from the Post Office
We were all sitting around the breakfast table this morning as the daily task of getting over seventy tiny tummies fed got under way. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and through the glass we could see the Postman.
Razzi was in a determined mood!
He went to the door and immediately gave the Postman one of his hard stares. When he saw the Postman only had a couple of letters and a parcel that did not contain a Bear he was livid. “Just what do you think you have done with my new friend?”, he demanded to know. The Postman was taken aback and explained that he knew all about the missing Bear as a full scale search was underway down at the Sorting Office. Since Razzi’s last visit when he let the Manager know he wasn’t happy they had been searching high and low.
Unfortunately the Postman did not have the new Bear with him but had news that he had been found and was currently on his way back from Chester. Razzi, being the kind Bear that he is, thanked the Postman for all his efforts.
A little downcast we all returned to our breakfast when we heard the sound of screeching brakes from outside in the road. Again there was a knock on the door and through the glass we could see another Postman.
Razzi headed for the door once more preparing his hard stare as he went. As he opened the door, there was our new friend. The second Postman explained that unfortunately the Bear had got fedup of waiting to be delivered and decided he was going to escape from his parcel. What he hadn’t realised was, that once he had escaped from the parcel he didn’t know where he was and furthermore the Post Office now had no idea where to deliver him to. Once parted company from the parcel he had no address attached to him.
The second Postman explained that once a full scale search had been started for a Bear in Birkenhead they realised that the Bear they had in Chester must be the missing one. Furthermore, seeing as how it had been nearly a week since he was posted they decided they had better rush him round because he had not had any food in all this time.
We were all thankful to finally meet our new friend and he quickly began saying; “Hello”, to all the new friends he had waited so long to meet. We have already decided that his name has got to be Escape seeing as how his escape from his packaging was what had caused all the problems.
At least this story has a happy conclusion and really there only remains one more thing to say… “Amie, get some more toast on the go. Escape is starving here!!”
